Hurricane Season Began June 1st
Hurricane season began, June 1, 2022, and concludes on November 30, 2022. The Woodlands Township has compiled an assortment of resources, tips and reminders to use as you prepare for weather-related emergencies. Please bookmark the Township Emergency Resources page so that you can access it easily if needed.
Hurricane Game Plan and Supply Kit: Building an emergency kit and having a game plan before a storm is imperative. Supply kits should include food, water, flashlights, batteries, medications, first aid supplies and other common essentials that may be needed during and after a storm.
Hurricane Preparedness Guide: The Southeast Texas Hurricane and Severe Weather Guide is available for download on the Township website. The guide covers everything from the details of the 2022 Hurricane Season to helpful tips for planning ahead for weather-related emergencies.
Sign Up for County and Local Alerts: The Township encourages residents to sign up for local alerts from the counties and bookmark their Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management (OHSEM) websites. Montgomery County: Alert MCTX | OHSEM
Avoid Scams After the Storm: Recovering from the damage caused by a hurricane or weather-related event can be stressful and might make you vulnerable to those preying on others' misfortune. Scammers often appear after storms, posing as FEMA agents or other government representatives. The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) offers advice for consumers about how to avoid scams after a storm.
Keep Texas Beautiful's Waterway Hotspot Cleanup Program
Here's a terrific morning opportunity to Install some drain markers, hang some info cards on doors, give away dog waste bag dispensers and clean up trash and litter in the nearby waters of Lake Harrison!
This workday is a collaboration between Environmental Services, MUD 6, Grogan's Mill Village Association and The Woodlands GREEN. The waterway cleanup is part of the Township's participation in Keep Texas Beautiful's Waterway Hotspot Cleanup Program, aimed at improving the quality of local waterways while adding to the KTB Database of information on the sort of trash that is recovered.
We will meet at 9am on Saturday, June 11 at the Sawmill Park Pavilion. 2200 Millpark Dr. We will have all the supplies for the various activities. Let's work about 2 hours before it gets too hot!

Houston-Galveston Area Council Survey
H-GAC is the federally designated metropolitan planning organization (MPO) for the 8-county Houston-Galveston metropolitan region. The H-GAC Metropolitan Planning Area (MPA) is comprised of Brazoria, Chambers, Fort Bend, Galveston, Harris, Liberty, Montgomery and Waller Counties.
H-GAC is planning for the regionโs next 20 years, prioritizing safety, convenience, accessibility, and sustainability for the entire Gulf Coast region. Help bring this vision to life by participating in the 2045 regional transportation survey. Have your voice heard by taking the survey now.
GM Shopping Center Update
The Fuddruckers restaurant has been bought by the owner of a Malaysian restaurant in Katy known as Phats Eats. He is submitting plans to renovate the restaurant and open it later this year.
The Woodlands Express Survey
The Woodlands Township invites riders and potential riders of The Woodlands Express to participate in the online Park and Ride Study survey. As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, commuting patterns have changed. To ensure high levels of service and to meet the transportation needs of commuters, Township Transit is seeking input from passengers. The survey consists of questions regarding rider schedules, boarding locations, routes and more.
The survey takes approximately 5 minutes to complete and can be found at www.thewoodlandstownship-tx.gov/parkandride. The survey is open now and closes on June 30, 2022.

The Woodlands Farmer's Market is the perfect place to pick up fresh produce, fresh foods and a unique gift for a special person in your life.
