Update on GM Shopping Center
The Township Chairwoman, Dr. Ann Snyder attended the February 27 GMVA Meeting and spoke to the board and residents about the shopping center, in response to the letter that the board had written to the economic development committee of the township. She explained that property tax dollars could not be used for funding, anything other than public activities. She noted that it is likely that some of that money will probably be spent on parks and a new cultural center. She indicated that the other key area of concern for the township board are the shopping centers, particularly ours and Panther Creek.
There are some positive things taking place at the shopping center.
Phats Eatery has gotten his final approval from the township to begin the reconstruction of the Fuddrucker site. Phat's is a well-known and very popular restaurant in Katy. Its own chef is considered one of the top chefs in Houston.

There is construction taking place at the Teach-a-Tot building and we are trying to determine what is happening.
