The GMVA Annual Planning Meeting
The Grogan's Mill Village Association held its annual planning meeting on Sunday, March 19th. During the annual planning meeting, the GMVA Board of Directors lays out objectives for the year, discusses its philanthropy plan for the year, and each Director volunteers for Committees which are each dedicated to supporting the community in a variety of ways. As a result of the success and growth of The Woodlands Farmer's Market - proceeds of which fuel the GMVA's philanthropic efforts - the GMVA has pledged more than $50,000 in donations this year to local schools, scholarships, our local library, and other local charities. A new committee was also formed, focused on supporting our local businesses through promotions and community events
President's Message
"We have an amazing group of Directors, all of which are incredibly committed to supporting the Village of Grogan's Mill. Our objectives this year are largely focused on finding innovative ways of supporting our local businesses, increasing our communication and partnership with The Woodlands Township in an effort to ensure the best interests of our residents remain a priority, and continuing to impact our Village through philanthropy. The GMVA board has pledged to donate $25,000 in scholarships to local residents this year, as well as an additional $12,000 in donations to our local schools. I encourage all of our residents to continue to support The Woodlands Farmer's Market so that we can maintain those efforts."
Aaron Hoffstadter
President, Grogan's Mill Village Association
Past President's Message
It has been a great pleasure working with the dedicated volunteers that make up the GMVA Board of Directors over the past year. I am deeply honored to have served alongside each of you as we continued to advance the success of our Farmer's Market, connect members of our community to valuable information, and gave back through scholarships and donations to our schools. Great things are ahead for our community and I look forward to working with President Hoffstadter this year!

Woodlands Wastewater Strategic Plan
In March, all Woodlands MUD Boards and the Woodlands Water Agency Board of Trustees unanimously approved the second phase of the wastewater strategic plan. The first part of the Phase 2 study is scheduled to deliver a report in late 2023 covering the following:
optimization of the design of a new wastewater treatment plant to replace the old facility on Sawdust Rd in Grogan’s Mill,
evaluation of the proposed plant's capacity ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements,
more detailed study of project costs for materials and major equipment, and
determination of estimated impacts on customer sewer rates in future years.
Longer term (1-2 years), Phase 2 will evaluate land acquisition specific to the footprint of the new wastewater treatment plant and conduct preliminary engineering for a redesigned sewage conveyance system in Grogan’s Mill.
Update on GM Shopping Center
Things are looking up in the shopping center.
The entry road in Buckthorne Place has been repaved.
The GMVA has formed a new committee to focus on having community events in the center.
Phat’s Eatery, the restaurant that is going into the former Fuddruckers location, has received its final approvals from the Township and construction will start shortly. The anticipated opening is in November.
The Shell station has completely reopened and they have upgraded the convenience store located next to it. They have some basic essentials like milk and bread.
A new Montessori school will be going into the Teach-a- Tot location in the near future.
We have had discussions with the Randalls property manager about bringing a new store, Gordon’s, to the center. The property manager looked into it and determined that it would not fit. They do not see any improvement in the chances from the possible merger at Albertson’s, (the owner of Randall’s) and Kroger which is expected in early 2024.
