The Woodlands Township Budget Requests
The Woodlands Township is currently preparing its operating and capital budgets for 2025 and would like to meet community needs.
If Grogan’s Mill residents have budget requests pertaining to services, programs, capital improvements or other matters that it would like the Township Board to consider, please forward your suggestions to info@gmva.org. Deadline for suggestions is July 15, 2024.
Grogan's Mill Shopping Center Update
Construction is expected to begin on the Grogan's Mill shopping center in July and Howard Hughes Corporation is in discussion with several prospective tenants to fill some of the vacant retail spaces.
The much anticipated Phat Eatery opens Wednesday June 26 in the old Fuddruckers location. Residents who have tried their cuisine gave it a five-star rating. We hope you will support this new business in the Grogan’s Mill Village Center.
June GMVA Meeting Notes
James Holian from Congressman Dan Crenshaw’s office shared his contact information and encouraged residents to contact him to resolve issues. Congressman Crenshaw’s office has been successful in expediting passports.
June Yard of the Month Winner
Scott & Gretchen of E. Lacey Oak Circle have lived here 4 years and love the neighborhood. They enjoy working in the yard, walking and biking all the beautiful pathways. They also like hiking at State Parks and volunteering with the Township on the Invasive Task Force removing invasive plants from the forests.
Guidelines for GMVA Yard of the Month
1.) Preference: owner does some of the yard work him or herself (exceptions made).
2.) Property should be well kept (the area visible from the street).
3.) Obtain homeowners name, phone number and email address.
4.) Email your nomination to bellacruzsoldit@gmail.com by the 26th of the previous month. For example, for July nominations submit by June 25th.
5.) Winner will be awarded a $50.00 gift certificate to The Woodlands Farmers Market at Grogan's Mill. Winner will provide a brief bio and picture for the monthly newsletter.
6.) YOTM will run April - Oct
Covenant Violations
The Grogan’s Mill Village Association Board Directors have received an increased number of calls about covenant violations.
Although we are happy to help, The Woodlands Township has launched a new app that allows for more efficient reporting and follow-up on issues of concern to residents.
The Woodlands 311 - Service Requests
Report a Concern
There are four ways for community members to report a concern to The Woodlands Township:
1. Call The Woodlands Township Resident Care Center at 281-210-3800 during regular business hours, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
2. For assistance after hours with urgent service matters other than emergencies, please call 281-210-3800 and press nine (9). Any time during the automated announcement, press nine (9) again to be connected to the After Hours Supervisor.
3. Submit your concern online through TheWoodlands311 service request system. Registration is not required.
4. Download TheWoodlands311 app on your mobile device at Google Playstore or Apple App Store.
The Woodlands311 App provides enhanced service request capabilities and expedited request processing. The 311 app provides residents with the ability to report concerns in the community, such as downed or unhealthy trees, streetscape maintenance issues, concerns about lakes and ponds, directional signage maintenance requests and more. The new 311 Service Request system is directly linked to The Township’s work order system, expediting request processing.
Community members can also find many answers to Frequently Asked Questions on the Township website.
The Woodlands Farmers Market
Shopping at The Woodlands Farmer's Market is a great way to support local businesses and your community. Proceeds from the market fund scholarships for local students, support local schools and support the local food bank.
The market is open every Saturday from 9am to noon. During July through September, the market keeps summer hours. Regular hours will return in October. Come on out and join your neighbors at the market! It is a great place to sample local products and find unique gifts for the special people in your life.
